Re: Stronghold radius?
Yeah, ok, 50 in the SH at the moment should be sufficient for all but one or two of our neighbours.

Re: Stronghold radius?
The radius is already completely out. if u look at it about 80% of FUN*F is grouped up but the rest of the alliances are fairly spread out over the area given. People atm just want to get the good croppers. as we get more villages and fill it all in things should be much better
that being said we are far more grouped then any other alliance, while our largest distances may be 40ish sqaures the other alliances have far more ground to cover.
the only alliance close to us with some grouping is MNU=HOT= and they have about 10 villages to our 100.

Re: Stronghold radius?
How many alliances have you checked KJ?
And a more general question: how many croppers does each player need? What ratio of croppers to non-cropper villages?

Re: Stronghold radius?
at least 3 normal villages for each cropper if not more. We might have to make this 4 or even 5 as croppers become more depleted. BUT don't forget, the more supports round a cropper, the more troops you can produce there, i.e. you can only hold x number of troops at your cropper, but you can hold y number at each of your supports and lets say you have 4 supports that means you can have an offensive force of x+ 4y troops and this number increases the more you add on supports. Also the more supports you have = more rez production which you can send to your cropper to produce more troops. This can mean you can produce perhaps 3 mini personal SHs of your own in your time of playing this server and this is a very bare minimum. If done right each of your croppers can control perhaps 200k+ troops.

i based this on a 40 radius from -90 210, use travian tool to have a look. MNU=HOT= has a group of 9 around -73 189 area which is close to about 10 of our *F members.
if you use travian tool it actually shows that we have formed, by accident a diagonal line across the map, i think this should be our boundary more then setting a radius, it basically falls behind y = -2x + 20 (if this makes no sense look at a map). we should just fill in the area behind that.
As for croppers, is it first in best dressed or what, i got a 9c for my 2nd cos i wasnt sure if id get enough of other res to grow enough, but now i know i do i want a 15c. there are 2 great sites, one either right near my 2nd village or one smack in the middle of the Fun*F people. but do i have to wait for others to get a cropper or just go to town.

Re: Stronghold radius?
if you get a 15c as your next village you will regret it trust me. You will not have anywhere near enough rez production and will fall behind.

i get 300-400k a week from raiding so i think itll be ok, i always have res sitting there with nothing to do cos of no wheat, and trading is too slow or to much of a disadvantage

You have to talk with VioletV about any 9c/15c in order to co-ordinate with other members.

Re: Stronghold radius?
How close to settling are you? If you still haven't got a reply, you could also try Cursez, who I think had some role in allocations too (though maybe I am misremembering).

Re: Stronghold radius?
Talked to V about it they are fine either way.
Im about to pop out my 3 settlers. was waiting till i was on days off to do it. itll take 10 days for CP but i just hit build on the town hall so i hope to reduce that to 5 days with a party every day.
im going to go with the 15c right near me for faster growth, im not worried about res yet as with 300 clubs i can raid none stop in 4 7x7 quadrants with all the farms around, and that will increase with time as more people go out of protection around me.
even though im out of the core of *F im only 5 hours from you BGs which is a very small distance in travian terms. i also have dootz, big boss and superyee as neighbors, and after being in LITE i know they are great people to have close by.

Re: Stronghold radius?
A quick point of reference - I have been settling FUN into croppers with with the higher crop oasises followed by other oasises (based on the tribe type). The settling was done on a first come first serve basis, hence the need to let us know when you were ready to settle.
Knowing that we can place you in a 9 or 15 cropper with no oasis is easy. I'm trying to take all the 9 / 15 croppers that are more productive in the area that we will eventually grow out to. This way, no other alliances can take them without a fight. The 60 squares distance is huge, but i'd rather defend that then have to attack a couple alliances to take them.
I'd like to see all our members with at least 1, 9/15 cropper (if they want one). Use the cropper as your capital and build up additional villages around it to support it. This is the general strategy.
