Regarding a few questions about heroes...
answered by Sergeant Simmy on Wed May 21, 2008 10:13 pm
(1) Can you have more than one hero? If yes, how do you switch between them?
Yes, you may have up to 3 heroes, but only 1 may be alive at any single moment. The current one must die to switch to the next hero.
(2) Can points put into hero stats be re-assigned?
Stat points can only be arranged at level 0. After level 0, it is solid and unchangable.
(3) Does your hero stay dead when he dies?
No, you may revive it at any hero mansion.
(4) Does your hero fall victim to the 1-troop-attack death? (you know what I mean...)
No, you're hero, unless it was at exceptionally low health, will not fall victim to the damage of residence/walls/population.
(5) Do natars get heroes?
No.
(6) Do you select a unit to be made into a hero, or is a hero a new unit altogether? (If latter, invalidate questions 7 and 8 )
I believe you create a unit and then you can make it a hero by selecting it in the hero mansion.
(7) Does the upkeep of your hero unit change when it is made a hero?
6, as Arc said.
( 8 ) Assume I were to make an offensive hero. I'm currently Roman, so here are my ideal choices:
Equites Imperatoris
Equites Caesaris
In reality, speed is the only factor which matters to heroes as all other things can be changed. However, I chose an Equites Caesaris hero simply because i had no plans, whatsoever, of using Equites Imperatoris. Money and base offence/defence do not matter in the long term. Speed does.

Yes
Yes, speed becomes more and more crucial as the game progresses. Also, the hero's offense is overtaken by the value of the off-bonus. Do you think it is better to just plough points into offensive bonus from the start?

Re: Original questions posted about heroes
no, you require the ordinary offensive point for the sole sake of survival for the hero. If your hero has a higher stand alone offensive power, than it will die alot easier. Besides, if I remember correctly, it takes thousand so soldiers to make the off-bonus count more than the offensive power.

So when do you think it's worth switching from offence to off-bonus?

Re: Original questions posted about heroes
I would estimate roughly 20 normal offensive points. But it varies between heroes.

I think an ideal time to switch over is when your hero can raid a village with no troops on his own.

But he raids by himself, he doesn't bring home any bacon.

Re: Original questions posted about heroes
last i checked, heroes can carry no resources. Yoz, your test is based highly on the other village. They could have a 10k defensive army or 3 phalanax....

Re: Original questions posted about heroes
I only find it's a good time to switch over when my hero can survive a raid on his own against a village with no troops. It might be better to perhaps invest a few more points in his attack but I think this should be the bare minimum.

Re: Original questions posted about heroes
In my experience i find that once she can raid a oasis in your vicinity with minimum health loss on her own i tailor her to the village she is located in ( For instance mine is going to find herself leading a raiding hub so offensive points and health are a priority )

Re: Original questions posted about heroes
offensive points=health under the circumstance that you're attacking.. Unless you were referring to regeneration.
